Join Rachel Breidster from Mahoney Performance Institute for a deep dive on Building a Foundation for Inclusive Engagement.

Most people would agree that workplace interactions - from committee meetings to professional development sessions - feel a lot less like work when participants are able to engage and contribute in meaningful and productive ways. However, garnering this type of engagement requires that participants take a risk in sharing their thoughts, ideas, experiences, and questions. Learn specific actions you can take to create a space that fosters rich conversations and reflective curiosity, and encourages growth as a learning process rather than an end goal. This session will introduce you to the concept of psychological safety, illustrate its importance, and give you the opportunity to practice actions and behaviors designed to build it in any work environment.

Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the importance and benefits of psychological safety - particularly in a learning environment.
  • Describe the key elements of a psychologically safe environment.
  • Demonstrate tactics that build psychological safety.
